Miss Bisque’s deceased husband, Johnny Bob Wiley, was a man with secrets so he set up his will and trust accounts to prevent anyone learning of his clandestine activities. Bisque Fayette Wiley is a Southern belle raised to have a man take care of her. After Johnny Bob dies she has to make a choice: live a hand-to-mouth existence or toughen up and take care of herself. Her journey takes her to the door of a Savannah, Georgia art gallery owner, Colonel Parker Hill. The colonel lost a leg in Desert Storm. He owes his life to a female soldier who died taking fire meant for him. Consequently, he loves women. Perhaps, he loves too many women. The colonel, Southern gentleman that he is, becomes Miss Bisque’s mentor and protector. When Miss Bisque is accused of murder, she may need more help than even the colonel can provide.
This is my first novel of “Carol North”, I loved it.
The writing is very easy and has a great flow that keeps you engaging, and you donot feel lost in words.
“Miss Bisque and The Colonel” is a very contemporary women fiction, in the settings of beautiful Savannah.
The story starts with the widowhood of Miss Bisque and from there how she carries on with her life with shocking discoveries about her deceased husband and her very demanding family depriving her with any support. But inspite of that Miss Bisques struggle to make a name for herself with her art and offcourse the wonderfulColonel that joins her her journey.
The story is captivating enough to keep you glued to the book. There are some vivid sexual descriptions between Miss Bisque and the Colonel, but given the cimcumstances it fits well with the characters and the storyline.
The story plot is very unique and the turn of events are certainly you wouldn’t expect when you start the book, and that’s what makes it a very interesting and fun read.
I would recommend this book to anybody who enjoys a good interesting fiction.
